A growing biotechnology company seeks a Desktop Support Specialist to provide desktop support and problem resolution for the office and laboratory systems. This position is on a contract basis; however, has the potential to extend to permanent work. Moreover, this is an innovative opportunity for an imaginative, and exceedingly organized looking to grow as a professional.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide support for computers running Windows XP, Win7, Windows 10, and Mac running OS X
  • Setup, configure, and deliver of workstations and peripherals to end users in both office and laboratory 
  • Configure and maintain PC and laptop images for company wide distribution
  • Provide desktop application support and problem resolution for business and lab system applications
  • Perform routine moves, changes, and upgrades
  • Handle helpdesk calls 
  • Manage weekly and monthly maintenance tasks on lab workstations 
  • Ensure that critical data is being backed up and synchronized to network resources
  • Troubleshoot print, copy, and scanner issues
     

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’ s degree 
  • 1 to 3 years of experience supporting Windows and Mac operating systems, as well as Microsoft Office products
  • Exposure to supporting VPN clients

Preferences:
  • MCP certifications
  • Involvement in Life Sciences industry
