A life sciences organization seeks a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to join their team! The individual in this position will lead the financial planning and analysis duties, internal financial reporting and detailed variance analysis. Responsibilities
  • Drive the annual operating budget process, the mid-year reforecast, and quarterly and monthly tracking analytics 
  • Ensure alignment between financial metrics and the strategic direction of the business
  • Lead long-range planning activities, work with business partners, help in develop key strategies, tactics, and financial approaches 
  • Prepare of monthly and quarterly accruals for significant R&D related expenditures 
  • Serve as the finance department contact for collaboration arrangements
  • Stand as a strategic business partner with R&D team 
  • Review purchase requisitions as necessary 
  • Prepare monthly flash and management reports
  • Analyze financial statements, cash flows, and operating expenditures
  • Lead implementation process for FP&A systems, including planning and setup of financial systems, reporting capabilities, and related processes

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’ s degree in accounting, finance, or economics
  • 10 or more years of financial analysis experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry 
  • Strong understanding of Excel and ERP systems
  • Ability to work within and meet all deadlines while executing on multiple deliverables
  • Financial statement knowledge and understanding of US GAAP
  • Experience managing and developing a team
  • System knowledge including Oracle Fusion, Adaptive, Jaegger, and ADP
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly attentive to detail 
  • Solid Microsoft Office expertise (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Excellent customer relationship skills, must be diplomatic and tactful
  • Strong financial competence and business acumen
