A software company seeks a Payroll Specialist to become a member of the Finance team and ensure accurate processing and recording of company’ s payroll. This position stands on a 3-month contract basis; however, it has the potential to extend into permanent work. Additionally, this is a tremendous prospect for a professional looking to join a vital company and make an immediate impact.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily payroll department operations
  • Track and manage employee status changes
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
  • Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits
  • Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
  • Perform compliance for unclaimed property payroll checks as needed
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary 
  • Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting
  • Process manual check and relocation metric’ s
  • Keeps detailed and organized payroll records

Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree
  • 3 to 5 years to experience processing multi-state payroll
  • Working knowledge of payroll best practices
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Working knowledge of ADP WFN- v17, e-time, and Workday
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Nice to Haves:
  • Bachelor’ s Degree
  • CPP 
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in payroll field
  • Aptitude to multi-task, take initiative, work independently, and use creative problem-solving skills
  • Enthusiastic, dynamic, organized, analytical and collaborative
  • Capacity to create and maintain a team spirit and harmonious working relationship
