An engineering company seeks a talented and experienced Project Accountant to maintain and manage project finances. The individual in this role will serve as accounting and finance resource for technical professionals on assigned projects.   • Review contracts and other project documents for financial and reporting requirements
  • Work closely with project managers and principals to ensure accuracy and proper accounting for job costs and earnings
  • Generate invoices and supporting documentation based on contract terms and input from project managers and principals
  • Manage collection of accounts receivable and reconciliation of cash receipts
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and provide detailed and timely financial information to project managers, principals, and company management
  • Monitor and analyze progress against budget and make recommendations to improve project performance
  • Verify subcontractor and vendor invoices to ensure adherence to contract terms
  • Act as authority on and within the context of GAAP and the firm’ s internal accounting policies and procedures
  • Maintain accounting files and records

  • Bachelor’ s degree in accounting, finance, or management 
  • At least 5 years of practical experience in general accounting, accounts payable, or accounts receivable 
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly attentive to detail 
  • Solid Microsoft Office expertise (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Exceptional customer-service skills, able to respond to employee questions with tact and diplomacy

  • AEC industry experience or understanding
  • Experience with Deltek Vision
  • Competence to multi-task, take initiative, work independently, and use creative problem-solving skills
  • Enthusiastic, dynamic, organized, analytical and collaborative
  • Ability to create and maintain a team spirit and harmonious working relationship
