Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting

Are you looking to expand your professional experience? A technology company seeks a Senior Manager to be responsible for all the operations of the revenue accounting team. Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of approximately 10 revenue accountants 
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the revenue accounting team
  • Set revenue recognition policies and ensure the timeliness and accuracy of revenue results in accordance with US GAAP, specifically ASC 606
  • Partner with collections team to ensure adequate revenue and accounts receivable reserves
  • Lead the evaluation of revenue accounting issues related to non-routine and complex revenue transactions, conducting research to identify applicable accounting guidance and preparing position papers documenting issues, facts and conclusions
  • Implement improvements to the revenue accounting process, particularly in automation of current processes
  • Partner with others in the organization, primarily division finance, deal desk, customer revenue operations, sales and IT 
  • Assist to revenue forecasting and revenue contract structures and resulting impacts on revenue recognition
  • Propose new revenue streams and products and resulting impacts on revenue recognition
  • Implement new systems and processes that impact the revenue accounting team processes
  • Lead and/or assist in activities related to acquisition due diligence 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’ s Degree in Accounting 
  • 8 years of related experience, preferably with a focus on revenue accounting
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, specifically ASC 606
  • 2 or more years of experience in corporate accounting or finance

Nice to Haves:
  • CPA
  • Master’ s degree in accounting preferred with 6 years of experience
  • 3 or more years of experience with a public accounting firm, preferably with a Big 4 firm
  • Experience with multi-national companies
  • Involvement in a high-tech and public company environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
